This is the third painting in my series from the Amalfi Coast in Italy. It is inside a walkway of the church in Ravello. I was intrigued by how the light outside was juxtaposing with the darkness within the walkway. It had a very dramatic and powerful presence to it. I wanted to translate that feeling onto the canvas, using light and dark colors as well as a lot of textured gel mediums and torn paper.
