I wanted to take the idea of Mardi Gras and Carnival in Brazil to create a face that looked somewhat like a mask and somewhat like a "real" face to "mask" what was underneath. I made it very textural to create a kind of dreamy world for the person underneath the mask, almost as if they were hiding something or holding an emotion inside of them.
